Well....(I know it's a bit late) but about a week before Christmas I went to see Babyshambles at the Astoria, I was so excited about it, I never got to see The Libertines so this was the closest thing to it. I had a great day in London and waited in line for about an hour but we still managed to get to the front on the rails which was awsome.

When we got in, it was soon well known that Babyshambles weren't due on stage until midnight, it being 6pm at the time we wondered who else would be on to pass the time. (To keep the story short) SIX really really bad support acts played and the last one left at 11:45pm (the band currently touring with Pete anyway) so the crowd were finally getting so excited about seeing Pete+co.

About 2/half hours had passed before a curtain covered the front of stage and it was announced that Babyshambles wouldn't be performing, grrrrr.

Well people went generally mental but no one was getting on stage at first, people started tearing apart the front barrier and kicking it to pieces (and being at the front, I really had to get out of there.......at least thats my excuse...) Myself and a friend were the first people to make it over the barrier and onto the stage, it totally ruled more than anything else I had ever done. More people came on stage without a struggle very shortly afterwards but the security was mental! One of the bouncers got a load of stage cables and started hitting people with them!

Anyway when the police and paramedics came we all just left but we knew it would pop up in NME some time. Buying the first issue out after the gig I was so dissapointed to find nothing was there, but this morning was a different story!

I bought the new issue (released today) and on the first few pages are pictures of the riot, in ALL of the photos printed you can either see me or my friend Georgia, its amazing and still can't believe it, I've bought like a million copies of it for memories!

Totally totally amazing experience, even though they didn't perform, and the let down their fans, it was great. (And ofcourse I would go see them again, but i'm still praying for The Libertines......)
